Silvestri Architettura is a workshop of architecture and urban design led by Roberto Silvestri and located in Genoa, Italy. The scope of the firm encompasses a large scale of design work: from master planning to constructing and interior design, from furniture to object design, from graphic arts to web mastering.

Silvestri Architettura is qualified to work in all fields related to architecture the world over: building design, urban planning, landscape design and building restoration.

Within its structure, Silvestri Architettura can develop all the technical and legal aspects of the project, according to the rule of the country in which the job take place, and can follow the construction process from beginning to conclusion.

Our studio develops architectural, structural and topographic surveys.

Recently we have added a graphic art department, that produces multimedia and audiovisual communication systems, architectural videoclips and web mastering.

philosophy

The project development method is strongly based on teamwork. We believe that the best way to develop a project is to work within a group in which different skills and knowledge come together with synergy. In this spirit, each of our projects is developed within informal teams made up of our staff members, although often extended to external consultants and collaborators that work alongside us when required.

The primary philosophy of our practice is the search for excellence at all levels of design work and in the realization of our projects. This is achieved through an efficient collaboration among all project players: clients, design team, engineers, and technical and financial consultants.

The financial consultants play an especially important role in the management of the design process. In fact, a precise financial program always underlies the design work, and the project is continually monitored during development to remain within the established budget. Adhering strictly to this rule, all of our projects have been realized within the projected costs, and sometimes costing less than anticipated, without ever compromising the quality of architecture and construction.

To carry out our projects, we apply traditional and contemporary techniques. From the very first sketch on traditional tracing paper, the ideas are then developed using the most innovative techniques in computer aided design and in 3D modelling. For this reason, our hardware and software are continuosly updated.

The development of the project is constantly monitored using physical or virtual 3D models, that are used by the design team to have better control on the final form. These models are shown to the clients in order to allow them to fully understand the project and actively participate in the design process.

Great importance is given to the communication aspects because we believe that the presentation of a project is a project in itself. For this reason, we never use the same final product, but we always create one suitable for each specific project. This idea leads us to use many different techniques to display our work: from drawing to painting, from photography to digital printing, from 3D models to the production of videoclips and audiovisuals.

who designed with us

Since our inception, we have established many collaborations with other designers, consultants and professionals who have worked with us as an integral part of the firm or as external consultants. All these friends have worked with us in different ways: from inside our practice as direct collaborators or, in other cases, as short or long term independent contractors.

We are convinced that these cooperations have enriched us very much. Each time we have formed a group to work on a project, all members have given something precious to the others, something useful for our future. For this reason we owe something of our knowledge to all those who have worked with us and for this reason we are sure that every cooperation we have had in the past and we will have in the future has something unique.
