The area of Marina Walls is a
central area of Genoa where we planned to build a public park, with a
surface of 10.000 sq/m, and with an active underground. We didn't design
any real building, but a sequence of spaces that go from inside to outside,
from interior to exterior giving different experiences to people
walking through it. The main underground space contains the sport centre that has two swimming pools and other sport facilities. Under Quadrio Street, the road on the border of the park, we put the car parking for 210 cars and on the west side of the centre there is a multi-cinema that we designed inside two
ancient underground spaces that were left during the construction of the Marina walls in 16th century. The only real building we made in the park is a small little bar with a timber structure that faces the big lake beside the walls.
