A young single lady had just bought
this house in the historic centre of Genoa and she wanted to transform
it in a place where to meet friends, have parties, improving her social
life. The house was quite small, just 90 square metres, and was divided
in many rooms. The entrance was very strange: a narrow corridor facing
a wall. We changed the whole structure of the house creating a new “heart”
that could be seen from each room of the house. This heart is surrounded
by very light walls that always let you see what is there behind them.
An internal classical porch has been built at the end of the entrance
corridor, and the corridor itself has been covered with shelves along
the right side. Colours and materials have been chosen to give a “cosy”
atmosphere to the interior space when the owner will be at home alone:
a warm orange with an unfinished surface and oak wood for the floor and
all the details.
